Alright, I'm the proud owner of a 91 acura integra ls, completely stock. I got it a little over a month ago, and its basically my first bought and paid for vehicle and I'd like to make it go 'vroom vroom'.

I've never built a tuner, my automotive experience comes from working on old chevy trucks and such, which is completely diffrent, I know. But, here is my question...

What should I do to build it? Outside of performance intake, headers and exhaust, I'm a bit lost. Keep in mind, where I live, there arn't a lot of tuning shops, so if it requires a really technical tune, I'm kind of out of luck unless I want to drag it somewhere far away.

Its a stock B18A1 engine atm, with around 159k on it. I havn't made up my mind on how I want to build it, given my position with the lack of tuning help, I probably don't have many options available.

Help a noob out?

there are a lot of different routes that you can take with that motor...i would compression test it to see how healthy the motor is first...a good project that would benefit you is do a 5spd conversion to it

5spd conversion? If your talking about the tranny, its already it a 5 speed manual. Thanks for the advice about the compression test, I had planned on doing that sometime soon, around the time that I did a tune-up on it.

i thought it wasnt...my misinterpretation...i saw your abbreviation "atm" and thought it was automatic...if the motor is healthy (like over 180psi in each cylinder) then you can do a fair amount of mods. and be safe on stock internals

Alright with a bit of research and looking around, I'm starting to formulate a bit of plan.

Basics
------
Cold Air Intake
Header
Cat-back exhaust
High flow cat
Water pump
Oil pump
Ignition (Wires, plugs, etc)

Later
---------
Camshaft
Intake Manifold?
Throttle Body?
Cam sprocket?

What other basics am I missing and what things should I consider for later? Right now I'm not sure if I want to go all-motor or forced induction, given the fact of limited technical assistance around here, it will probably be motor for now.
