hear about this?

supposedly toyota is developing a car for roughly the 09 model year that will have:
1) sensors to guage Blood/alcohol level based on sweat from touching the steering wheel
2) pupil sensor to determine dialition
3) excessive swerving or unnatural steering movement sensor

these are all designed to prevent operation while intoxicated.

i think tech. is going overboard

i heard about this a month ago. i do not see how it could possibly work. 1st i highly doubt that it could tell how intoxicated someone is just by the sweat from their hands. the whole swerving thing is good because it will keep people from doing stuff they should be such as looking around in the back seat for something while driving. i want to know how long does the system shut down for until you can restart it? to me if just seems like something more to spend money on when it breaks. and best of all no body that is going to drink and drive will buy the car so there is no real point behind it. yes it might save them from getting caught by the cops but still no body that is going drive drunk will buy the thing.

the thing is no body will buy them that drinks. for example if they are out and have to get home or something they wont be able to. the only people that would buy them are the parents with say 16 year old kids so if the kids take the car 1 night and drink they wont be able to drive and old people. basically anybody that drinks would not buy them.
