I know honda transmissions are beast, but some break in one form or another sometimes.

Post your tranny (B, D, H, or F series) and the problem you had with it or w/e broke:

-I had the stock open differential in my LS B series tranny rip all the teeth off of the spider gears and take a chunck out of the internal case baffling . . . it sucked but that was the only problem i've EVER had with my tranny, and trust me, its been through hell, lol . . . and by that i mean 25x8.7x13" M&H slicks on 30+ psi of boost!

not quite sure wha tyou want us to post...

but...

i down shifted from 5th to 3rd and shattered my shift forks.

yippy.

this was under normal driving conditions... but the tranny had NO fluid in it for over 2 months...

ooops

oh well, blew it up... and with it gone it made room for my GSR tranny w/LSD

well as you already know. I shattered all the teeth on my inner spider gears as well on a bone stock LS tranny. that was on street tires, with only about 200-220 WHP, pullin' second gear.

The worst ive had was a shattered dif on a a20 1986 prelude si. It had plenty of fluid, dunno what happened but it made a sizeable hole. Went through 3 transmissions on that car. Otherwise I've only had synchro failure in 3rd gear on an abused and used H23 tranny, and failure of 5th gear on a D16A1 tranny probably caused by low fluid and frequent non-rpm matched shifts from 2nd to 5th.
I hate that they dont have synchros for reverse. Other than that I have no complaints.

Not really a failure,but an annoycane really.

Every LS trannied honda I've driven "catches" or grinds going into third gear...

I had the lever arm on my cable trans tear. Just bent it back into place and welded a little piece of metal stock in. Never had it happen on any of my other honda/acuras though.

input shaft bearing on a b18a1 trans.. it actually does sound like gravel inside of the transmission..

well i have a new one . . . just got back home after blowing the 3/4 synchro/slider in my LS tranny . . . should have it fixed by tomorrow tho . . . lol, i was racing some pos car too . . . just toying w/ him, oh well, haha

i have a few they werent all mine though

my eclipse has a 1st/2nd gear syncro that is going bad

i was with a friend and his diff blew up in a b18 stock ls. just put a half dollar size hole on the bottom of the tranny. we went to change the tranny and the spider gears just fell out.

another friend was letting someone drrive his car. he was down shiffting and went from 5th to 1st redlines the motor and then the clutch just shattered. was on a stock b16 a2.

jesus id have knocked that guy around for a few minutes. i mean how the hell do you go from 5th to 1st ?

im happy i shouldnt have to worry about transmssion problems for awhile 700 doller full rebuild..

i hope that guy was learning how to drive stick who went from 5th to 1st. i do not see how someone could do that. i would be so mad at him.

i dont either but thats what happened. i replaced the clutch my self and it was a real job with a b16a2 ina 96 coupe. the clutch was in few dozen particles.

sure am . . . i have a friend that uses the LS OBX diff and has broken 3 stage 5 axles and torn apart 2nd gear (and i mean all the teeth were torn off) . . . yet his OBX diff is still intact

. . . i also plan on completely tearing the diff down, cleaning it, and rebuilding it w/ new hardware before i run it . . . just to be sure everything is good to go

. . . by the way, my buddy has been a 10.3 w/ a blown headgasket and too much piston to cylinder wall clearance :wink:
