when i first baught the car i noticed alot of oil deposits as well as exhaust the DC spotrs ceramic header that was on there had a leak in it so i removed that and i decided to do the head gasket as well to make sure it was not leaking and i used arp head studs other then a cam seal a new timing belt some plugs and the intake and exhaust gaskets and a new 2 1/4" exhaust with new header thats all i touched i did not take apart any of the valves

CEL = check engine light if your not throwing a CEL then your dizzy should be straight.

what color smoke: black = fuel, blue = oil, white = coolant

Whoa dejavu! My car did the same thing except for my needle. Any ways I got my head rebuilt valves, valve seals etc etc. It lasted for a month, I jumped on the mass pike got up to 80 mph and then BOOM! My bottom end blew. The guy at the machine shop said that once you rebuild the head high mileage blocks can't keep up and he said... " Sorry kid I must have forgot to tell you" :banghead . I had around 181xxx on the bottom end, so just be careful and good luck.

well you do the electrical test while the TPS is on the throttle body. if it is faulty you need to get a dremel and basically make an "X" on the rivets and then try to unscrew it with a screwdriver

oil on bottom half of plugs = valve guides/seals. oil saturated on plugs = bad rings
