For a B18B, the first real mod i have planned for it besides i/h/e, is cams. now i know its not adviseable to run it with stocko valvetrain. If i keep it at its original rev limit, will i have any problems. bare in mind, itll only be a temp thing til i can get the funds together for the v.s. & Ti retainer kit.

yes you will...your stock springs will turn into mush...anything over a stage 1 you need to upgrade to dual valvesprings

They will last for a little bit but it is not recommended for a reason. You can usually find the cams and kit sold together around other forums for the same price as the cams.

ok, well then i will hold off when i buy the cams first, until i can get the valvetrain kit. I've also read some other posts where some say the crower Ti retainers arent that strong. someone please correct me if wrong.

I wen't through the exact same thing when I was planning on buying the 403's. Different people say different things. The stock ones will work to begin with but I have never done it and do not know how long they will last. I installed the Ti retainers to be safe. I sold the car but still see it once and a while. I think it has thirty to forty thousand miles on it since the build with no problems (knock on wood).
