Hello all. Here are some plans I've put together for a future build. Tell me what you think? Things I should leave out or add?

b18b1 decked & honed
Head ported, polished & milled
jdm p30 pistons std
OE piston rings
shot peened LS rods
ARP hardware
OE rod and main bearings (GSR bearings?)
Micropolished, Balanced & Knife-edged? Crank
OE Honda 3 layer Head Gasket
OE seals and full gasket kit
Vtec water pump
Vtec oil-pump
Vtec Timing Belt
Blox IM
RC 310cc injectors
obd2a - obd1 conversion harness
p75 LS ecu obd1 chipped
BDL fuel rail
B&M FPR & guage
Port Matched OE throttle body
AEM Cam Gears
BC 0022 Cams
BC Valve Springs & Retainers
Hasport Motor Mounts
HyTech Header
Custom mandrel bent exhaust
Vibrant Burns Stainless Muffler

I got a little carried away when making that. I know it will take a shit ton of money to do all that. We'll see how things go, wishful thinking never hurt. :huhu

if you compression test it and it checks out...put a 50 shot of nitrous on it.

I wish I could find more people posting their nitrous results and usage. Just to gauge where everyone stands with that stuff and how to use it effectively w/o blowing my motor up since it is my daily.

Hey I checked your build thread with the red DC. You had a lot going on, there was something new installed every page a long with a complete change of plan. lol! The plans to road race came out of nowhere, are you still doing that?

How did the nitrous kit work out for you, how long did you have it on for?

Also can you help me out with installation? How do you install these are they pretty easy to do?

How many uses does a 5-10lb bottle give you?

yea i just autox'ed my car a few weekends ago...on Oct. 13th I am road racing in through NASA Midwest on the Autobahn track in Joliet so that should be alot of fun...

O and I have three build threads...here is my old one with my nitrous...http://www.nonvtec.com/forums/kyleʹs-b18-build-w-nitrous-t114.html

As for nitrous...ive had nitrous on all three of the motors that have been in my car...ive had a wet kit, and a dry kit but i had hondata that helped add fuel/retard timing...from experience i ran my stock ls motor when i first got it (140K miles) and ran a 75 shot on it for 2 years and it finally took a shit on me cuz the rings went...and i was not a bitch about spraying...i would spray like everyday on my way to work so the motor did see hell

Installation is pretty easy though...are u thinking a wet or dry kit...dry is alot easier to install but i wouldnt go higher than a 50 shot on dry...wet i would go to 75

P.S. a lot of ppl say that "nitrous is dangerous" and shit like that...if you do just the little precautionary things...your motor will last a long time...my best time on that stock ls with a 75 shot when from a 15.8 all motor to a 14.3 and my trap speed were good enough for a mid/high 13 sec.

Thx for the link I was only able to find the most recent build. Thanks I'll check that one out and get back to you if I have any questions for sure.

As far as the nitrous I'm thinking wet kit because that's so far what I've read is the better way to go.

And about the Nitrous it's a touchy subject. I think a lot of what is floating around are rumors. There's never any real data backing up nitrous when kids talk about it's this or that. It's just like anything else I guess, it has to be done right and tuned. It's definately the cheapest and quickest way to gain 50-75 horses. I have to research it some more, it's completely new to me I never considered it an option before.

Hey I checked out the thread it was pretty straight forward...

I've changed my mind about the nitrous, I want to build N/A. I think I'm going to start fresh with a b18b block and go from there.

Been doing alittle :livre lol

I found a b18a block somebody is selling around my area for $80, bored to 81.5 and messed up while trying to put pistons in so it needs to be rebored to 81.75 atleast he says to be round again.

Should I pick it up!? Would this bore yield an ok CR with some p30s/404s?

He also has a b18a crankshaft , fresh micro-polished, mic'ed, - $100
New b18a stock rods, flash lines have been polished off, shotpeened and resized after arp rod bolts, bolts included $150
and Great condition used 81.5mm JE 12:1 CR pistons - $200

What do you guys think, should I pick up some of this stuff, what here is worth it and what isnt? It is a b18a so that kind of changes my plans but if the the deals are good I'll jump on it. I'll just mate a PR4 head to it once I come across one.

I think the JE pistons and bore size (81.75) will yield a compression ratio that's too high so maybe I should opt for the block, crank, rods and find some p30s somewhere else. Because with the p30s I should be around 11.7:1. Please let me know you you think because I could be completely off, I'm just getting into this.

Picked up a complete b18b1 head off a 95 with about 90,000 on it for $40 so it's a start.

Trying to source a block for a good deal. Then I'ma start with the crank and get it balanced and micropolished and move on up.

Do you think 180whp is realistic with this build?

I see, so just to shotpeen the 4 rods it would cost $150? Or to buy 4 shotpeened already rods it would cost $150?
