i just finished my ls/vtec good luck finding a vtec head at a good price and i would use the b16 head it has smaller cc's than the b18c plus me personally dont like the butterfly bypass intake system but that is just my 2 cents ah and this is a non-vtec forum LOL

yea i know its non vtec lol im just looking for a newer head for mine not really a vtec im just sick of the a1 valve cover and i want a newer head to put a mugen valve cover on. it doesn't fit my a1 head.

No the GSR hard has the smaller cc. You wont really see much of a difference between the 2 heads so dont worry about it to much. A good Vtec head should run you about 400-500 complete. And the GSR intake with its valves is the best intake honda made for the B series, makes great low and mid range power while keeping good high end flow. A B18b1 valve cover will fit on the a1 head.

my bad i meant to say the gsr but then he will not be able to use the itr intake which will make a big difference that he will notice and i think the ITR is the best head that honda made with its valves/and dual springs plus it comes with type R cams but their is not much difference between ITR/B16 except the ITR has mild port work and as we know upgraded valvetrain that is why i said B16 and not to use GSR plus their more of them around sh** just get the CTR head and call it a day HA HA HA

im just looking for a good head that will add power vtec or not. because im going to build it for a turbo pushing around 20psi and i'd like to have a newer model head instead of the old one if im going to put that kinda work into it.

If you want a head that will give you more power a Vtec head is the only thing worth doing. All non Vtec heads are for the most part the same, any gains will be minimal. A stock Vtec head will give you around 30whp. I got my B16 head with manifold for $300 and was also looking at a GSR head with manifold for $350. Both are good heads and complete. I went with the B16 and did a P&P to make it flow like a Type R. I did find 3 cam cap treads that needed to be repaired but I took care of that.

ITR/CTR and B16 head both PR3 heads. The Type R head is P&P with better cams, valves, valve springs and retainers. But the head casting is the same for B18C5/JDMB18C R and B16B. The GSR uses a P72 head and is different in a few ways.
