Hi from chile. I have a B20 non vtec with Crower 404, P30 Pistons, 2.5" custom exhaust, B16 Tranny, Chipped ECU, etc.

My idea is put a quality Twin Loop Muffler because I hate the noisy sound. Well, I have the oportunity to buy a Mugen Twin Loop in good shape. My other option is the Hytech TL Muffler.

I understand that the Mugen have a 2.36" inlet pipe and the Hytech 2.5".

Could affect my performance using the the 2.5" exhaust with the mugen 2.36" muffler? I love the Mugen sound...

Or is better to choose the Hytech with the same 2.5" inlet? :quoi :quoi :quoi
Thanks in advance.

I would to have to disagree with you cause changing piping size anywhere in a exhaust system is bad. Exhaust systems are designed to use a scavenging effect. This may explain more.

Well, I think that the Hytech would be a better election between price and performance. Hytech is new ang Mugen is used.

Thanks

twin loop mufflers make a HORRIBLE sound, i had an OBX twin loop replica, it was extremely well made and stuffed with as much fiberglass as you could fit, i sawzawed it off when i got home from the muffler shop. go with a turbo style muffler like the dynomax super turbo, or any of the solo performance mufflers, those make excellent sound as well.

Thanks. Now I´m running the bigger dynomax super turbo that fit my Integra and the sound is very quite for the DD, but I was looking a muffler less restrictive and low sound (non chambered). OBX is a crap, but I hear good thing about Hytech T. Loop straight muffler...

you should find a World Sport II axleback....quietest exhaust ive ever heard and the muffler is the reason for it.

the hytech mufflers are better constructed, but suck equally when it comes to sound, hytech wanted 400 dollars to build that muffler from scratch and there was a 4 month turn around time, i never even bothered to respond back to that, it was a joke. the super turbo is actually a very good flowing muffler for how quiet it is, check out solo performance mufflers if you want something that flows a little better with a similar sound, im about to install one of their OE style turbo mufflers on my car next week, but their stealth and mach mufflers i hear are some of the best around.

I found this video of a Solo Performance "Quantum" muffler (straight) in a Toyota Celica.
I think it sounds pretty quiet to be a direct muffler (non chambered).

What do you think????

Maybe I should keep my chambered 2.5" Dynomax muffler 17748 anf forget the straight flow.
It would be interesting to know the difference between a 2.5" chambered muffler and a straight flow
muffler in a N/A Honda in the dyno.....to see if it's worth enduring a louder sound...I think 5 hp not worth it...
