 Post subject: b20b on bottle.. neep some answers plz help!

ok i recently just swaped out my 91 ls on my DA.9 and bought a fresh 1999 b20b from japan. ok i took off the old mani it came with and slapped in a 92 ls manni on it.. then i swapped out from ob2 dizzy and put in my obd0 dizzy. slapped in the motor then vroom right away.. i slapped in a b16 cable tranny 12lbs flywheel stage 2 6 puck clutch. broke it in and im rapeing fools out there like you wont belive.. i raced the new r32 vdubs and beat him by 2 cars. ive been raceing b16s gsr.. and nothing str8 mop.... BUT NOWW!!!!!!! I WANNA GO FASTER. EVERY ONE HAS TOLD ME THE B20 WOULD HOLD 100 SHOT... I WANNA GO TO A 75.. THIS MOTOR IS REALL HEALTHY NOT EVEN A VALVE TICK!!!!!! I HAVE A ZEX NOS KIT.. AND IM DOING IT DRY! WHAT SHOULD I DO?!?!?!?!?!

um dont go anything really above a 75, a 55 would be good to start out with...the b20 sleeves are thinner than ur LS motor, which makes them a little bit weaker...

why not slap a B16 vtec head on it... 40kw instantly... ARP head bolts... and Bob's your Uncle :super

^well this is a nonvtec forum...i personally have a b20vtec but if he wants to stay nonvtec i say start with a 50 shot and go from there...

I say go ahead and do the zex nitrous kit. i would do 60-65 shot just to be safe, retard the timing a couple degrees and get colder spark plugs such as the NGK BKR6RE(around 11 bucks at autoparts store for all 4) Oh and make sure you heat the bottle up too, A bottle gauge would help a lot. heating the bottle will push the nitrous out harder rather than having a cold bottle. You will see a huge difference my friend.

Yeah VWs are slow even the turbo ones lol. So are b16s. I smoke them all the time with my lightly tuned b18b. Personally I would caution against spray. I have seen to many motors see an early grave from spray. Even when it is gone right things can go very wrong really quick. If you do want to spray use a wet kit and only do a 30 shot. Retard timing and put colder plugs in. If you have Hondata get a tune for the spray, colder plugs and timing change. This will help ensure the life of you new motor.

^ hondata is the safe way to go by all means...me personally i had my stock ls with 140K on it and ran anywhere from a 75-105 wet shot on it with just colder plugs, retard timing, and i went through 20lbs of nitrous a month and it lasted me over 2 years (and only reason it died cuz the rings were fried)

if you do the research and know what your doing you will be fine with just a wet shot

The n03 is what killed the rings most likely. But 2 years running that large of a shot is really good.
