Went to Firebird Raceway out in Chandler Friday night to see what kinds of times I could put down. Times weren’t so good but neither were the 60-ft. times. Rear door panels, seat, and front passenger seat were removed along with the spare tire, and equipment; car has PS and AC. I’ll post up more details later today and I should have a few vids. I think this car should be able to go mid 14's if I improve my 60-ft. times.
The 2.7 I screwed up bad, launched at 2,000 rpm but I dumped the clutch and spin all of first and hopped into second.
The other runs I didn’t launch, I just eased off the clutch and onto the throttle, floored when I got to 3,500 rpm.

Need to improve my 60'

For comparison purposes all of the other FWD cars out there were running slower times than me (with the exception of a 2007 Si (I/RH/E and race gas 14.6 – 14.7 were his times) and a heavily modified SRT-4). Otherwise, a 1998 GSR coupe w/I/H/E/IM was running in the 16’s consistently and another bolt on GSR was running low 16’s. A 2002-ish turbo Caviler ran marginally slower than me (15.1xx) with just about the same 60’ and just under a mile higher than my trap on the 4th run. 2001 Acura TL w/I/H/E ran in the 16’s.
All the GTO’s were in the mid 14’s, an auto G35 coupe with I/H/E/plenum spacer/reflash was running 14.4’s – 14.6’s consistently (2.2 60'). My brother ran 14.0xx’s in his 03 350z with intake/test pipes/spacer (2.2 60’ and he spun a little between shifts).

a better launch should get you into the 14's i bet... your 60's are high but that just takes practice.

loose some weight and up your redline if your at stock (7k) and youll get deep into the 14's im sure

As far weight, I removed the rear door panels, all passenger seats, and spare tire/jack. So, I'm not sure what else if there'll be anything els to remove.

Now as far as upping the redline what would you suggest? On my first run I ran 1st - 3rd to 6,800 - 6,900 rpm and trapped 90.95. on run two and four and revved to 7,000 - 7,100 rpm. It seemed like it helped.

Also, I'm thinking a set of drag radials may be in my future. :D

forget pistons/rods thats all...stock rod bolts and stock crank and such...the pistons with everything else yielded about a 10.0:1 compression

raising the redline to 7300-7499 might help you, depends on your trans... you might not be making alot more power there but you wont drop down as low.

i havent run my car at the trak in a long time...
