make sure the timing is dead on...just fyi i have a b20b w/ gsr head and .0012 off the head with skunk2 pro1's and my valves just barley touch the pistons.

i think it mostly depends on the cam lift. the thing is that the non vtec pistons have valve pockets only for a 31mm valve (vtec is 33mm)

Clay the motor to be sure. But with stock cams and nothing milled from the head should be fine. Larger cams can be a problem but clay the motor. Using a 3 layer head gasket instead of the thinner 2 layer will help. GSR head on the b20z has been done tons of times so I think all will be fine.

Yep and Yep. Nonvtec here. I dont hate on Vtec I think it is great but this is all non 3 lob cam stuff. You will find more info on a Vtec or general Honda forum. Who needs Vtec when you have low end torque. But my track car will be a B20 Vtec build.

yah im just finishing a ls/vtec myself but back to track if CTR pistons fit in a ls block with a vtec head i dont see a problem with the b20z pistons they dont have as much dome hight as the CTR but to be sure like i said clay the engine
