thanks for the links. but why do both sites list different specs for the stock cams? anybody ever swap in the b20 cams since they look a little more aggressive? which cams seem to be more popular (bc stg 2 or the 403's)?

The 403's are by far more popular. Doesn't mean the BC's are bad, just a newer company. If I had to guess, I'd say that the 403's are the most common after market cam. Don't know about the B20 cams, but it should be ok since you can use B20 heads on B18 blocks. The increased hp of the B20 is due to bore (displacement), not the cams. In fact the B18/B20 stock cams are probably about the same, so why do it? Maybe somebody else knows more..Or you could go get a JDM B20 head and throw it on a USDM B20 block, supposed to be good, better flow...

Edit.

If you mean p8r head then it won't fit a b18 due to such a larger combustion chamber

Yeah, you're right, have to use the B20 block for the P8R....

why is it in the nonvtec store it says that the bc stage 2 cam can be used with oem valve spring but on the bc site it says it requires the vavle spring kit.

you probably could use the oem valve springs with those BC cams but it probably not recommended. i would just change the valve springs anyway so that you dont have anything to worry about and would be much more safe.
