Like the title says I am going to be building a new motor for my 1999 Honda Civic Si. The current b16 that I have in there is not cutting it and I rolled upon this great deal for a b18b1. I am picking up the motor this weekend and have already started ordering some parts for the motor. Here's my list check it out and leave some comments. Once again I am new to all this non-vtec stuff.

Head:
- Port and Polished
- Crower 404's
- Crower Dual Springs and Ti-Retainers
- Crower B-series Cam Gears(black)
- Skunk 2 Intake manifold
- ARP Head Studs

Block:
- OEM Honda Type-R pistons
- Stock rods
- ARP rod bolts
- JDM ITR 4-1 Header

I am pretty sure that is all for right now. I could be forgetting a few things but just post your opinion's and thoughts. Thanks

That list looks pretty good. What are you going to tune the car with? I also would recommend a bored out throttle body to help out a little bit with that intake manifold. Also, what size cat back are you going to be running? 2.25-2.5 is the premium size for a n/a setup. A nice little upgrade if you don't already have it, is a short shifter. Doesn't add power but it makes shifting nice and quick, plus its fun to drive.

Yea I am planning on getting a new throttle body but was unsure as to which one to get. My exhaust will be 2.5 all the way back also.

I will also have some pictures hopefully this weekend of the motor and some of the parts. And will continue to post pics as the build progress's.

lol. I already have the Header, I am currently in the process of polishing it to make it look bling! I am picking up the motor this weekend. And should be ordering the valvetrain next week. I will keep this thread updated.

looks very good but the b16 would put out more power with 10psi and somw minor tunning.

the build looks great i just would go with the golden eagle intake mani instead of the skunk2.

its a plenum desing instead of the csting but you could alway glass bead the skunk2 to get some better flow out of it.

I am kind anew to this site, and I have always had VTEC, I will be getting my first non VTEC pretty soon.
I was jsut wondering why you would pul out ur B16? Why not just slap a turbo on it, or put some cams in it and i/h/e and what not?

^Like I said before. The ls motor is cheap and my b16 has terribly low compression.
