beating a v8 with a 4cyl is easy, but it depends on the v8 and the chassis. a theres lots of underpowered v8's in 4klb+ chassis that might get up and go but overall they arent very fast compared to say a lighter higher output mustang/camaro/vette.

people just assume that v8's make alot of power but honestly my NA 4cyl makes more at the crank than the average v8 in say a sedan.

the main question is how fast do you want to go, 14's is pretty quick, 13's is fast and 12's will beat up on most stuff thats streetable.

in a integra (relatively heavy car) theres a big difference between low 13's and high 13's if your going NA, but if you decide to turbo (easiest route) you can get there pretty easily. a good turbo setup will yeild between 220-300hp. NA to get into the 13's id say your gonna want to be around 180hp and a shorter tranny than a LS tranny. thats the upper limmit of nonvtec power though, its alot easier to use a vtec head.

so keep those power levels in mind and obviously your milage may vary and go out and look at different engine combos that will get you close to your goal.

stock components are good up to 300 hp in any b series motor...

otherwise really theres a million different combos out there, just do some research on what kinda combos will get you the power you want and leave you some headroom.

I dont think I'd wanna take any "stock" LS up to the 300 mark man, thats asking for trouble.

your could do p30 pistons (stock b16) they will raise your compresion ratio and its a cheap mod. then if you wanted to go ls/vtec you could do that and youd b looking a 11.2.1 compresion. put a stock gsr cam in the head and a gsr ecu and that would b a pretty potent "oem" set up. if you wanted to stay non vtec get a set of crower 404 cams, good valvetrain (springs, retainers), good skunk 2 intake, cam gears, and 65mm throttle body and that would be a killer set up on a relativly stock bottom end. of course no matter what get a good tune
