you can tap and rethread for a new hole or conversion : obd2 to obd1 harness and chipped ecu to eliminate the knock sensor in the program.

I have a p28 ecu and i have converted it over to obd1 but it makes the car have a big miss when you start it up like its not getting enough fuel. I'm not sure if it's chipped but the rpm goes to 8 gran i have opened it up and there's no chip.

Sound like something is wrong with that ecu. Try getting another ecu and test it.
