hello does anybody know what b series head would be best to get the most porformance out of a b20b with a b16 tranny

Yep best B series non vtec head. Has vtec size intake valves instead of the smaller P75 ones. I think the cams or one of the cams is a little better but not sure on that. If you are not going to put a vtec head on the b20 then the P75 head is fine. IEH cams and a tune will be good. You can get some higher compression pistons if you want to make more power.

I would say that the GSR head is a great on but since everyone is grabbing them up and there costing around $600.00 them a b16 will do just find. :grin:

That's just a money pit by not putting a VTEC head on a b20 and will end up leading to a b16 head when you wanna make more power anyway. B16 head FTW

B16 head>GSR head IMO. The B16 head and GSR head flow the same volume of air but the B16 moves that volume at a higher velocity. The GSR head does have a slightly higher compression but does not flow as well. Doing a light P&P on a B16 head makes it flow even better. Honda choose the PR4/B16 head over the P72/GSR head for the Type R motors for a reason. I agree with DA 4 Lyfe. Just save up the $100-150 extra and buy a Vtec head. I found my PR4 head complete and with intake mani for $300. Granted the total cost of the swap is more as a P8R head is a bolt on swap, min of parts needed. But Vtec gets you 30hp with a stock head and opens more doors for making hp.
