HI am new and i just bought a 92 integra 4 door with a b20. I bought the car from a friend of a friend of mine. he told me the motor has about 14,000 miles on it. The car is great except for one problem. When you turn the car on there is a fast loud clicking noise coming from the motor. He told me he thinks its the connecting rod. his buddy told him its the head it need to be replaced. so he bought a b18 head but never installed it because he ended up buyin a gsr so he jus decided to sell this car. He gave me the b18 head with the car. Im not sure wat to do. should i jus change the heads and see wat hapens or should i replace the connecting rod or wat? A friend of mine told me that the car ,ite jus need a valve adjustment and i think that is wat it could be. can someone please help me out!

pull the spark plugs one at a time while the motor is running if the sound goes away when one is pulled its a rod knock. if it stays then you probably need to adjust your valves...takes 30 minutes

dude i had the same problem with my b18a1....it started clicking in the bottom end and got faster when i picked up speed. Reason being, i spun a bearing and demolished it. It got so bad that i was burning oil like crazy and eventually couldn't even drive the car. At the moment I am completely rebuilding it. If you have any other questions or more info on the noise let me know, i might be able to help ya out

fuck r u serious u spun a bearing thats a pain in the ass. im pretty sure i have a bent valve now and im goin to replace my b20 head with the b18 head which has valves and hopefully arent bad. wait but was urs a clicking sond or a knocking sound cuz if its coming from the block itself it would b a nocking sound not a clicking. ooo wait really wen u sped up it got louder and faster. i havent really driven the car a distance to hear it but wen its idling and i rev it i hear the sound get quicker and a louder. wat state r u in maybe ur close u can come check it out?

i had the same problem with the rob bearing in my d16y8. really fucks stuff up when you run the motor for a long time with a bad bearing. i would pull the spark plugs out one by one like was stated earlier. just to check on that. because you will regret driving that car if you got spun rod bearing.

Just my $0.02! I had a lose timing belt one day and it would hit the top of the valve cover and was causing a tap/ticking noise and did speed up as the revs went up too.
