about how much hp/tg am i losing with a clogged converter because i hate to say this but i got beat by a single cam (d15 vtec) with a muffler, no name header and intake..i have an LS with crappy ass intake and a catback...i know for a fact its the converter cause i took it to the shop and they told me thats why me check engine light is on cuz of the clogged converter..and plz dont bring up the "o you cant drive" thing cuz we both started driving around the same time so we're around the same level as far as driving goes...also would taking out my power steering add hp/tq if so about how much

taking out power steering may only add about 2hp at most and the power steering box and reservoir does not weigh much. I do not think it is worth taking it off.

taking off the PS is supposed to be good for like 5hp but thats really something to check at the dyno, its so easy just make a pull or 3 take the belt off and make another pull. as far as if its worth removing or not, i did it for more than just the power, i also wanted the weight freed up, the space in the bay freed up and wanted the steering input to be back (compared to my old car with no PS).

as far as your cat goes you can really loose alot of power with a clogged cat, i mean i can feel a huge difference just from putting my stock muffler on. maybe your car just needs some TLC, new fresh cat, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, oil change, valve adjustment, freshen up your engine grounds. youd be amazed what a difference all the little stuff can do.

now heres the deal i think you need to change your SN since even lowly d15 Vtecs are beating up on ya ;)

haha..yea..i should change it to "soon to be VTEC killa LS"..someday ill be able to live up to my SN..just gotta fix up my car then we'll see what happens..whats a TLC? and yea im getting a new converter or test pipe havnt decided..as for the oil i change it every 3k and just changed the tranny fluid so im good on that stuff..yea i also want to take the PS out because the engine bay looks cleaner and more space and less weight not just for hp

1) do the little stuff as said above
2) you could gut the cat. its free, just pull it off and take everything out of it, put the empty cat back on (so it'll pass inspection).
