 Post subject: compression sound right

yesterday i did a compression test and got 145-140-139-145. good thing is its all within 10 of each other. just wanted to know if that sounded low or not. im use to seeing 190s out of my 3sgte. but i know this is a completely different engine and na also.

Sounds kinda low to me...just make sure that you held the throttle open when you did the test...some forget to do that. Other wise it sounds like your engine is a little tired to me

ya thats low i dont know the exact number but im pretty sure that ls's should be in the area of 190 to 210..210 sounds high but its close to one of those numbers, sounds like its time for a rebuild or just new rings..

how many miles are on the engine?

did you unplug the distributor and injector clips? otherwise having fuel in the combustion chambers may have thrown off the readings...

you know what....i did forget to put the throttle all the way open. it has 158k on the odometer but still pulls pretty strong. still has a little hesitation around 3-3.5k but i have yet to replace a few things like cap n rotor, fuel filter and timing belt.
