I've been looking for a tiny bit more HP and was looking to buy some type of pulley. I have a B18A1 motor stock with intake, header, high flow cat, and cat back exhaust. I have my PS still working but my AC shit is still in my car but does not work. (Leak somewhere) but what would be the best pulley i should get? are they all 1 just diffrent names? please help!

oh and what brand as well thanks!

underdrive pulleys is the set of pulleys that run your power steering and ac. i had them on my ls and you don't really notice much. the crankshaft pulley is the monster pulley behind your front driver side wheel. that runs all the belts for your ps and ac. i really don't think you will see a large difference with that one as well. AEM sells underdrive pulleys as a set but i forget how much they run for.

Or if your not really wanting to use the power steering or a/c you could look around on E-Bay and find a JDM Civic Type R N1 crank pulley, it will only be for your alternator.

Would the AEM crank pulley be worth $145? I have most bolt on mods and looking for as much power as I can with out going big just yet.

I doubt it will yeild enough hp for you to even notice, especially if you're already not driving your a/c. Underdriving your alternator isn't that good of an idea either, reduces output quite a bit. When I had one anytime the car idled my lights would go dim, a/c fan hardly blew, etc until I revved up the motor. If you have any kind of stereo system it would suck up everything the alt puts out and start using battery juice.

^^^ really good post. I had the same problem with my alternator when it had an underdrive pulley on it. The lights would go dim at idle and looked like they were ready to shut off. When I revved the rpm's they became bright again. The crank pulley wont be much power what so ever. you won't notice anything.
