I finally got my vtec working on my d16z6. I was wanting to put a b series motor in my car. I was going to buy it from Tiger Japanese. I dont have the cash so i will half to save for a while. I was wandering if I should just put the money in my d16z6 or wait until i get the b series. I already have a cam for the d16 and headers. I think akmee makes the cam but cant get to the web site or get the number to them. If anyone knows how to get reach of them please let me know. Thanks

What is your overall goal for this car? I presume you want to stay naturally aspirated since you bought that header.

I was going to put a cam in and put all the boltons on the motor.Thats including fuel injector fuel rail skunk 2 intake manifold msd coil etc. I was going to do that to the b or d series.

unless you open the bottom end up and bump compression you wont make use for the fuel rail or injectors.

Since you already got the parts for the d-series might as-well make good use of it. Get it tune. I would also bump the compression up. And at the same time save up for the b-series.

let me ask this q. iyo is the ls a better way to go or is building the d just as good? i'm on the same delema. my d15 burns oil and my trany cries in all gears. so do i go ls or go w/another d but a d16 and build? i
have heard that it is cheaper to get 200-250whp out of a d16 then a b18a1. wyo?if i stay with the d i don't have to do as much as if a do a b swap.

depends on how you accomplish that...you could turbo a stock d series and make prolly around 225whp... but ive seen stock ls motors, turboed, on race gas make almost 400whp

you've always always always gotta take into consideration what you want out of the car, out of the build. What purpose does the car serve? If it's a daily, a simple LS swap will give the car the balls it needs and not cost an arm and a leg.
