Hi folks
I'm a newbie here and basically know nothing about any type of Honda swaps and will not pretend to know. Here's my story.I have recently come to own 2 92 civics. One dx with a D15B7 -5spd in it which I am driving for the winter. The other is a Si with a D16Z6 ( I think I got that engine code right) 5spd. What I would like to know is would putting the Si engine into the dx be a straight swap. Are there any trans or wiring/computer issues? Would it be worth it just to get a bit of extra passing power. I am not really worried about time or effort. I have a fully equipped shop and it would just be a little project for my auto mechanics students. Or I wonder if another option would be to sell the Si and use the money for some basic bolt ons for the tiny 1.5 to keep my students entertained. What are your thoughts?
Rod

Thanks for taking the time to answer my question in detail Nathan. I am having a great time reading up on all the info offered on your site and look forward to becoming more knowledgeable playing around with these two civic with my classes. Your time and effort is appriciated.

I would personally run the Z6. its a pretty easy swap. all you have to run is a vtec selinoid wire. the only thing i cant remeber is if the DX has a 4 wire O2 or not. if you need d-series info this is a good site for reference: http://www.onecamonly.com. good luck with your swap.

also why not just keep the Si and sell the DX? just wondering.
