it's better to change the whole thing. Be sure to replae the gasket or clean the screen.

Is your a usdm one or the jdm one. The jdm one seem to have a bigger VTEC solenoid.

I made sure that the vtec soiloind worked and you could hear it kick in but it sounded the same as the single cam and felt the same.

In my opinion, you don't want to feel vtec kick in, or hit hard, that means you have a drop in power right before vtec crossover. What you want is a smooth transition, so you don't really feel the crossover, just hear it.

I'm sorry man but the type of vtec solenoid you have has absolutely NO EFFECT on how 'hard' vtec 'kicks' ... the kick you feel is a jump in power when the secondary lobes (vtec lobes) take over and your valves are opening more and for a longer period of time (lift and duration) compared to the primary lobes.

All the solenoid does is allow oil to flow into the rockers to lock in the higher lift lobes. This happens within 2 rotations of the motor (1 cam rotation) so when you think about it, is pretty much instantaneous.

Let me know if you have any questions.

if u want to hear vtec. run your intake into your cabin. then u will be able to hear it. but if u actually want it to "kick" then chip your ecu and just set your vtec a few hundred rpms higher.

but like it has been said, u will lose power before vtec will actually enguage.

or u can just buy a B series vtec and u will be able to hear it
