Hey guys im new to building cars but i am a quick learner and know a good amount so i decided to jump in head first.

My buddy had a 92 civic si hatch that had a blown engine that i bought for $200, ebay'd a b20b for about $500 and stripped everything. I've sent the block off to get sleeved because ill be turboing this beast and dont want any problems. I already have some 9:1cp pistons, acl bearings, and eagle hbeam rods on the way for about $900. ill be keeping stock bore and stroke.

The transmission i got is a s80 from a 95 gsr. i havent got the axles yet im not sure which ones will fit the stock suspension. i plan on adding a lsd as soon as i get more money for it.

for engine management i want to get hondata not sure yet however what ecu i need for it. also confused about the obd2 engine and obd1 car.

the head im keeping stock minus valve train upgrades. i dont want to mess with the frankenstein stuff just yet :P

if anyone has some suggestions or comments feel free to let me know im all ears ill post some pics b4 too long.

whats the diff? do the oem bearings hold up and better at higher rpm's? i figured id go with after market since the redline for the b20 is so low and i plan on hitting around 8-9k after i finish building everything

a lot of ppl swear by OEM bearings, i know a lot of shops dont like ACL's...honestly ive used both and neither one have failed... its just that OEM bearings work better on a OEM crank

ok been busy for awhile doin the whole school thing. trying to find a manual steering rack for cheap but they seem hard to come by. i found one on ebay for about $190. in the front ive replaced the upper and lower control arms, the calipers(just kept stock for now), and on the first im gonna get a set of pic performance coil overs (the soft set ill still be driving this thing everyday lol) im tryin to find someone that can do my body work still its gonna be a pain my rear fender areas are pretty rusted. luckly thats the only real bad spots. im doing a home port and polish (just port matching and cleaning up the casting lines a little) then ill be putting my head back together. i should have my bottom end put back together by sunday. i have been waiting on main and rod bearings but the ebay store i bought them from screwed me so i went with oem bearings. good times. also if anyone knows were to get bellhousing bolts that would be awesome.....

You will need 94-00 Integra axles. For Hondata you will need any Civic or Integra OBD1 ECU, it will need to be installed in the ECU by a tuner. I used a P28 but they are getting harder to find. For wiring a OBD2 motor in a OBD1 car, use the OBD1 harness and swap what plugs you need from the OBD2 harness. Get a B18a1 dizzy or a OBD1 B18b1 dizzy. Some repinning at the ECU will be needed. Do research online about your swap there are tons of people that have done this or call Hasport. Hasport helped me with all my question when I swaped a B18b1 in my 98 Civic and I had alot.
