I have a hf distrubitor on my b18a and i was wanting to know if it was hurting the motor or slowing me down and much difference would it make if i put a the right distrubitor on it.

I wasnt even aware the D distributor would bolt up to the B head. I would just run the correct distributor, thats just me though.

Must have cut the leg off. It's better to put the right one on, just because you don't really know if you retarding the timing or advancing it.

I notched the ears out so that it would work until i can find one. Just wanted to know if it was hurting me for the time being until i could find one.

depends, you can either go to lean, rich or just right..lol I would advance it for now so you can run rich. Better than running lean and detnate.
