so a friend of mine happens to have a stock turbo off of a mitsubishi eclipse that is in excellent shape. it has oil lines, wastegate, complete compressor and exhaust turbine with the manifold and down pipe upper section. the maniflod obviously won't fit my car but i was wondering if this could possibly work with a costom manifold, proper tuning, and a max of about 8 psi. will it hold up? he's asking about $125 for the whole thing...should i really consider this offer? :?

isnt that a t25?

either way, i dont think the downpipe will work becuase you'll be going with a different manifold...

should be an alright turbo for your application

the down pipe isn't an entire down pipe...it's about 7 inches long coming off the exhaust turbine. its one of those combined (has two starting sections that merge into one) wastegaste and main exhaust downpipe, so it should work with the rest being custom made and bolted onto the "mini-pipe". i think it's a t25, i'm trying to remember the emblem on the side....

I thought the OEM DSM turbos were TDO4s and TDO3s(auto)

either 14b's for the older dsm's or t25's for the newer ones. the TD04/03 nomenclature is entirely useless because it tells you nothing about the type of turbo.

anyway i wouldnt pay that much for a t25, its just really small. 14b's are slightly bigger but also older. both turbos work pretty good on D series but will certianly work on b series they just arent going to be that efficient on them. if i were you i would try to find a t3 with a 60 trim compressor, these were avalible on some fords OEM.

TD04 was the emblem on the side. any one have trim or a/r specs on one?
man would that be poetic justice to be using a ford turbo on a honda to get power. (not like i'm expecting 500whp though, this is just a mild build idea.) :)

TD04 means next to nothing, its like saying t4 or t3

yes i mean mustang SVO, also merkur share the same turbo. mk3 supras and nissan 300z single turbos are also good places to find good t3's, they are all in the ragne of a t3 .48 or .63 turbine and 60 trim comrpessor

an option for a all custom but powerful setup would be a holset turbo off a cummins deisel. some of them are equivelant to a t3/t4 hybrid and are very nice turbos esp for the price.
