i have a EG hatch w a b18a1 it cranks up and when i spray starter fluid it starts and turn of fast i checked the inj there ok i checked the fuel pump it ok i have a brand new dizzy a p28 chipped ecu can someone help me grt this started

but my guess is that your problem is fuel related.

how do i get the ecu codes

is your ride obd1?

if yes, behind the pass side kick panel you'll find two connectors. one of them is for getting the codes. i forgot which color are the cables. one is for the ecu, the other is for the distributor. not to worry.

take a paper clip, bend it into a U.

jump the connector with that U bend. start the car. if its the right connector, the check engine will start flashing. if it doesn't do that, well it's the other connector.

short fast flashes are to be count as 1. i.e.: 9 short flashes = code 9.

long flashes are to be count as 10 i.e. 2 long flashes = code 20.

if its obd0... idk.

Could a bad head gasket be the cause of my car not starting I had someone take a look at it and he said its the head gasket fault my cars not starting he showed me the dip stick it looked like chocolate milk

Yeah that is the problem, head gasket.

All i can say do not over rev. the motor. i did that it sucks

Ok thanx I bought all the gaskets new and the new timming belt ill get them on asap once I get the car starter ill post and let everyone know how it run I will also run 5pounds of boost for that lil speed

ive never heard of a car not starting because of a head gasket main reason why a car wont start would be fuel/spark/ignition maybe a ground problem power isues but u stated it crankes so like i said fuel spark timing off i guess u learn new thing everyday ha ha ha ha ha ha when u get the car started and see alot of smoke them u want to check thing out compression/leak down thing like that just my two cents maybe try swiching ecu to pr4

i just found out that the person that try to do the swap put the small hose that goes in the throttlebody for water was put on the valve cover spot forthe intake hose witch sucks because it put water antifreeze in the motor i want to know if i have to take apart or just drain the oil and change filter.and im in the works of getting a pr4 hopefully i find one this week
