170 Sounds reasonable to me if you tune it right...... Shoot some video at the dyno..... Good luck... 8)

well I just got out...I was strapped 4 time so we cut the session short so far it's at 157/137 but there was basically nothing done to the cam gears so I'm hoping for more when I go back...I'll see if I can post up the graph tonight...

i made the best power at mid to low 13's A/F. this was in the header so a tailpipe sniffer might read a bit leaner. my engine really liked having the exhaust cam retarted, advancing the intake cam (on my engine ~+4) helped gain alot of power below peak rpm and only lost a couple at the very top. ignition i kept basically stock under high rpm. advanced the lowend to improve response. advancing or retarding the ignition at full throttle had no effect on power so i left it stock.

heres my dyno corrected [img][/img]

ignore the green line that was my setup with a stock block. the main difference in the blue and red was richer made more power and i retarted the exhaust more.

heres my dyno uncorrected Image

there was a big outside temp difference between run 25 and 32 (it was a few months later) my car was making alot less power when it came in a few months later because the correction factor. once you show it uncorrected you see the huge difference lol. in reality i belive my power is somewere between the corrected and uncorrected, so like 180hp...

+1 for the updates. did you go back and run it again? you should do a little better when you adjust the degrees of the cams.

no I haven't gone back but I did street tune it a little bit tho, I retarded the exhaust cam alil more to -4 and advanced the intake cam to +2 that seems to be the strongest set up at least it feels that way. I tried -4,+4 but it would just die...

mines at -4,+4  it makes a car with 404's at 0,0 sound like stock

what you prolly need to do is shim your TB open a little bit.... and also retune your idle A/F. making adjustments like that really affect your idle A/F ratio. the first time i dynoed my car litterally wouldnt idle at all after i changed the gam gears on the dyno for the most full throttle power.

wow thats heavy retarding. i think mine was tuned at +2,-1 but thats also 403's on a stock block. It is tough to use the butt dyno for accurate tuning. Have a couple different settings in mine and take it back to the dyno for three or four runs.

b series non vtec seem to like to have the exhaust retarted. it makes power all over the rpm range....

advancing the intake tends to help motors with stock ports or maybe dont have serious work done on 404's. pulls the power curve into a more usable rpm range. with smaller cams or a wicked head then you might want to keep them more towards 0
