I've slowly been modifying my a 93 integra rs and im looking to beef up the tranny what trans would work well with b18 and lsd? any suggestions would help ive heard the b16 tranny has better gearing??

b16/type r are the shortest gearing that honda has for the b series...grant it there are multiple types of these transmissions...if you want an lsd tranny you pretty much have to get a type r if you want it to come with lsd from the factory

how much does it usually cost to put lsd in to a b16 tranny and would it be worth doing anything to the stock one?

depends on the lsd you get...i mean getting a stock type r lsd is like around 400 or so and prolly another 200 in labor to disassemble and put the tranny back together

I personally would go with the gsr transmission, just because b16 tranny kills your gas on the highway, really short geared, unless your intentions is to only drag race that car then i'd say b16 but if its your daily/beater car, gsr all day.

in cable trannies the gsr is the shortes that year didnt have type r tranny.
b16's are not as short and as for lsd have it put in the tranny you want while the tranny is not in the car.
i personaly dont thank you need a lsd unless you r putting down a lot of power like 170-180whp na and 250+ for boosted cars but thats just my opinion.

Thnx for the info and im hoping to run about 180 whp and adding nitrous eventually so thats why i asked about the lsd

check ys1 or y1 transmission, sometimes those comes with lsd but it's optional

i would buy new gearing off ebay like 4.07 final drive good allmotor gearing ... thats what im doin

Find out your power band location before you pick a tranny

i have a jdm type-r tranny in my 4 door ED. freeway driving sucks due to the short gears. But i love that lsd! U can get a b16 with a ls fifth gear for the freeway driving.
