The 86 is a barn find from northern michigan with less than 39 thousand on it, owner died in the 90's in the marines doing his duty, so i begged helen for the car for a decade now and i finally got it under one condition, " DO it with mikes receipe(sp) of ideas, which are as follows : 92 or newer swap,re-paint the stock black with a midnight blue matalic, full interior, cage,up grade brakes, fuel cell.
I have most of it now with less than 4 grand spent to date.
Gotta remeber he died befor most swaps were done, let alone done everyday. so i need some help.
Thanks

Do they even make a mount kit for that and have you considered the ECU issue? Ah well screw it I love DIY! Best of luck!

well plans are to use all wiring and ECU from the accord the motor is in now, so most of the rest SHOULD HOPEFULLY be fun stuff.
the engine is a 93, accord is a 92, im using the barn find 86 si...sounds like a numbers game.

One thing you might look into for this swap is the Bisimoto H2D adaptor plate. This plate allows you to use a D-series transmission with an H-series motor. Specifically, you would use a 1986-1989 Integra transmission with the H22A. This would take care of any transmission and shift linkage issues. But you would still have issues when it comes to the driver side mount and drver side frame rail clearance, not to mention firewall clearance. But this might still be one of the easier ways to go when it comes to this swap.

Come to think of it, H2B might be a better idea than H2D. Yes, this does require a B-series mount kit in addition to the adaptor plate. BUT, B-series mount kits generally place the transmission bellhousing closer to the passenger side frame rail than a D-series transmission bellhousing will sit. This is important, since it will allow more room for the engine. I don't know if it will be enough room to not have to worry about crankshaft pulley/timing belt cover interference with the driver side frame rail. BUT, things should at least be significantly better than with H2D.
