what is heel toe? i'm sorry but i realy don't know exactly other than an attempt to rev match using the same foot -- but that doesn't really tell me what it is.

do you use it? and is it better?

don't hate b/c i don't know, gotta learn sometime...

thanks

haha real funny

its were you want to get the revs up while going through the corner so wehen you let the clutch out it keeps the car up to speed and may keep you in the lead. and there is more to it than just that but its up to just how you prefer to drive. its also if you have a turbo you can keep the spool up so it dosent lag when you need it there. in my eclipse i have to heal and toe it while regular driving before its warm. because it has a TB that dosent have the "choke" on it. had to modify it so i could have a steady idel. when i come to a complete stop i need to break and give it gas so it dosent die on me and then have to resar the car. but ater its warm its all good.

more for road corses, rally driving, drifting and whatever you want to use it for. you can be creative.

hope this helps.

If you have big feet or aren't too great at twisting your foot around, you can do what I like to call "fat footing" instead of heel-toeing. It's every bit as effective. ;)

Realistically though, there's no reason to need to heel-toe unless you're braking at the limit and need to downshift WHILE you're braking.

as you come to a corner and need to downshift in order to stay in the power band you need to heel-toe. first as you come up to the corner in say 4th gear, brake and continue to brake until you complete the shift. so with your right foot on the brake use the ball of your foot and use the outside of your foot to tap or spike the throttle as needed.(kind of roll your ankle do do this)so as you are breaking just before the clipping point depress clutch shift down and as you put it into gear tap the throttle to bring up your rev's, and release clutch and put the skinny pedal to floor. now at first this will be tough if you give it too much gas you will lurch forward(bad and counter productive)the idea is to get a perfect match that is seemless. if you are a down shifter and not a coaster(coming up to a stop)this is also the way you want to do it. otherwise you will just be putting unwanted stress on your trans and clutch.

on second thought WHENEVER you down shift you want to rev match. regardless if you are on a track ar going 35 in a residential. PERIOD. it takes practice to get perfect but trust me use it all the time.
next issue STATIC SHIFTING. the art of clutchless shifting! YEA!
