yes it can be done . . . look at people that boost the K series engines (11.0:1 compression) . . . you will just have to be very careful . . . the tuning is what really matters for a long lasting setup . . . good luck

yea..high compression can be done...just requires more carefully tuning...turbo kit...custom i say you can piece one for 1500 or lest and still reach your HP goals...i think that the complete kits are too expensive...and they have extra stuffs you don't need...just do some little searching for parts around junkyards and ebay...

10.5:1 is not "high" compression.

B16A's are 10.2-10.4:1 and people boost them...
B18C1 is 10.0:1 and people boost it.
H22's are 10.x:1 and people boost it.

so I dont see an issue with running an off the shelf turbo kit or even a pieced together turbo kit!

just tune it.

it'll be a wicked daily though...

Tuning is going to be key here. Some people drive their turbo setups untuned for a few days, but I wouldn't with a higher compression motor. Just curious, but are those the NA stage 2 cams? If they are, they will likely have a negative impact on overall power

plenty of people run NA cams with boost. does not seem to hurt a whole lot. yeah there are cams made for boosted motors but if he already has NA cams and trying to stick to a budget then keep them. you will not notice a whole lot of difference.
