What all could cause the higher idle? I am down too timing is off or my IACV is not working. Anything else that would cause it? It idles at about 1500 even when hot.

How could I test to see if its my IACV?

If its my timing should I be worried about another more severe problem?

On the back of your IM, aprox the middle, in between the firewall and the IM, you'll see a unit bolted in, with two coolant lines running on the bottom of it. Very easy to find,and take off. I can't remember if its a 10/12mm. You can just take those bolts out, and pull the IACV off the IM, careful not to drop the reuseable rubber gasket(looks like the number "8"),you should see two circles,and a mesh screen. If that mesh screen is real dirty/clogged up, pop off the coolant lines,and clean it all out.

sounds like your throttle cable might be too tight or your idle needs to be adjusted.

no mods at all. nothing has been touched in the way of the engine. idles high regardless of temperature. Problem has been going on for awhile but it is getting worse.
