I hate that website! If it wasn't for the years of info stored on it I would shun it all together. Anybody else ever get slammed by the members? This is a much more friendly forum. I posted up a topic about bad luck on 92-95 civic's in the...you guessed it 92-95 civic forum and I got cussed and called an idiot for not putting it in the general area. Then they blasted me for being a member since 2004 and only having like 115 posts...well no shit! Do you maybe think its the other members attitudes. JESUS!!! Sorry about creating a post to vent. Anybody else want to say something that pisses them off about that arrogant forum?

ya i have heard about how HT is a bunch of people who just live on that site and expect everyone who looks at it to know everything. i do agree with you but you're right there is a lot of info on there, but just as much flaming.

Honda-Tech more or less is good for the info on it or if your trying to sell/buy parts from your area.

yea, one of the reasons i never post there.

god forbid you ask a question. at least one or more people will flame you for not looking first.

as said, its just good for the info.

ive been an active member of honda-tech for almost 6 years now and yeah its a bit snobby. i dont post much lately since im too busy but after a while you get pretty sick of seeing people posting in the wrong forum or asking the same question a million times over.

im not saying treatin you like an idiot is the propper course of action though. some people litterally patrol those forums and the only thing they ever do is "flame noobies" and think they are accomplishing something. a site thats even worse than that is homemadeturbo.com.

this site is a much friendlier site since theres such a small non vtec fan base. personally i make sure i read every post on here and answer every post i can that i can make a contribution too. i cant say my attitude is the same on honda-tech though.

i do find myself linking to honda-tech alot though because there is alot of good info on there if you know where to go.

Yeah I know what you mean. I have alot of good friends on there that actually help, but for everyone good guy there's ten bad ones looking to embarrass someone. Everybody has balls behind a keyboard and monitor.

That's why it's become known as "Hater-Tech". I've seen questions posted that led to a thread with dozens of flaming argumentative posts and the original question never even got answered or even mentioned again. Ridiculous. Many times I ask a simple direct question and don't get flamed, but despite the fact that 100,000 people a day are posting there nobody even answers. I hate when the only response people give is "SEARCH" but over there that is the only way to find any answers. When you find out by searching around who has the knowledge and seems helpful, just hit them up on the PM system.

Yeah PM'ing is definately the only way to safely accomplish anything. And you know sometimes searching doesn't show all of the possible solutions.

True, sites with heavy traffic and lots of members draw good sponsorship and groupbuy action.

And yes I know searching doesn't always get you what you are looking for, at least not without LOTS of searching each individual forum by title, then by thread content, then changing up your search text, etc...also digging into archives.

HT is only good for two things, buying/selling and Searching.

I don't know that there's copyright infringement with individual users posting on a forum. The knowledge presented there isn't proprietary info created by or even for HT, it was made predominantly by individual users without affiliation to the site for the benefit of other individual users. The information is already accessible to anyone at any time at no charge. I don't see how HT can lay intellectual property claim to the majority of it.

...besides, you're only interested in the NON-VTEC stuff anyways, right???

If you don't like the forum, don't log into it.

No need to bash the site, thats not what nonvtec is about.
