Your asking if a B16 will work with your D series transmission?

No.

Do you want a B16 swap?

No. Don't swap in a torqueless wonder..you'll regret it.

with the cx body it should be pretty light already... swap in the si hydro tranny, the cam from an 88 to 91 si and a cam gear retarded about 4deg. and you should get pretty good fun/dollar pay out. Especially considering that you can buy intake/header/exhaust on e-bay for under 200 bux... then start putting money into a quality suspension setup. You'll come in WAY under swap cost and should you get the itch to betray us all, you can do your vtec swap later....

Remember that if you are in California, they will not allow you to put in an engine that is older than your chassis or run OBD older that your chassis.....among other restrictions.....Hopefully that crap doesn't migrate around the country like all the other bs has...As far as using a D transmission on a B engine, don't even think about it...Just because it could be done doesn't mean it should be done... For example, putting a V8 in an RX-7 (the "suicide swap") is a bad idea...

:(

Of course, engine selection involves many factors, but thanks to Hasport,et al, mount systems can make just about anything happen...

so is your comment.

really on a d15 the only thing you can do is boost them. i know you can build a crazy all motor d... but why? by the time your done, you'll hit maybe 200 all motor HP and you woulda spent the same amount had you turbo'd the same engine.

turbo + d = lots of fun.

and its fairly cheap.

d series motor - free, its in the car. or $300 complete swap
turbo kit - piece it together youre at or around 2k with good parts.
tuning, uberdata, chrome (requires obd1 conversion if youre obd0) or you can use turboedit. at most its gonna cost you 100 to chip the ECU (if obd0). or if you convert to obd1, you're looking at maybe $300 extra in parts... and about 150-200 for tuning on a dyno depending on your area and the tuners rates.

so like 2200-2500 or so give or take... for a good turbo D...

good luck dooood

sorry only thing really the b and d series engines use with each other is the injectors with a 1.6 civic and higher or the engine harness and the 1.6 ex/si throtle body with a emergency use for a Bseries LOL! but other than that i would mini VTEC it or just boost it, we are having a boost section on our web site pretty soon you will love the pricing for a very strong good kit not that cheap ebay crap!

Everyone seems to have overlooked the fact that the EG CX was not only a 1.5 liter, but is also only an 8-valve. So you can't use any cams from any other higher performance D-series. I would suggest the possibility of putting a Y7 head on there but caution is needed as the stock pistons *may* only have 2 valve reliefs instead of the required 4.

Really with that engine just swapping it right away and not hassling with trying to mod it is the best way to go. Personally I would suggest a Y7 longblock w/ Y8 manifold, Y8 tranny, a turbo kit and chip/tune your stock ecu. You can probably do all that for under $1500 and run flat 13's without even stressing the motor.

i had a 92 civic dx that some one put a d15b8 in it and it sucked but the head is for the most part the same cast just not punched for the 16-valves if you take the valve cover off you will see whare the other 8 valves would sit so a 16-valves cam shoud fit more or less as for your build id say go on ebay to do it that cheap but you will need more parts to run 13's send the head off for some porting and a good intake manifold with some fuel upgrades and turbos love low compression so some turbo 8.5:1 cuped pistons would be nice and dont forget a blockguard or have your block sleeved d & b motors are open deck so you need to beff it up a stock d-motor can hold up to about 220hp

and i think the stock pistons are the same as the d15b7
but thay dont reilly make miny good cams for the non-vtec and so so

well u got a CX right that sould have a D15B8 thats not a good motor the d15b8 has 8 valves not 16 valves and only has 70hp if you want to keep it youll need to get a new head a d15b2 ,d15b7 or a d16a6 are 3 good ones for that

and no a D trans will not fit a B block a b16a is ok 170hp but only 115tq get a b20b/z and put a b16a head on it
