What's your main priority with the car? I'm assuming DD = daily driver... well neither an LS or a B20 swap will hinder that.
Put simply, yes the B20 is just a bored LS.
Moreover, you can't just bore an LS out to the size of a B20. you'd have to sleeve it for it to be reliable... I think that's a bit more to digest than you'll looking to learn right now.
What swaybars are you referring to? Ones from a DA? Ya, they'll swap over but for the rears if your Civic is anything other than an Si you will need to get the brackets and such from a donor DA or possibly an Civic Si for the rear that is. As for the front, you'll need the sway bar end links as well as the sway bar, and the brackets w/bushings. The fronts are a direct swap.
For brakes try to find a 90-91 Civic EX (sedan) get the front knuckle assembly from those, they are 10.3" just like the DA, but they wont fuck with your suspension geometry. You could also go with the fronts from an Si. For the rear, the complete rear trailing arm w/ebrake cables are needed as well as the proportioning valve from either a DA or a Civic Si (or 90-91 EX sedan). For the rears you'll up just reusing your stock lower control arms and front toe adjustment arms.
