ANOTHER UPDATE!!!.......I WENT TO THE DARK SIDE...

I just picked up a vtec head from one of my friends, couldnt pass it up... i have never owned a vtec car before for the 4 years that ive had the car (since i was 16) and i feel that i need to experience it...

specs...

GS-R Head
Type R Internals
Stock GS-R cams
Type R IM
Hondata Gasket

Im keeping the gsr cams in it because i think those cams are better suited for a low compression b20/vtec setup...gsr cams will make power to 8500 and my rev limit is going to be set at 8300...should make around 170-180whp and 130-140ft-lbs...

Comments welcome...will post pics soon...and dont worry ill still be on this site all the time

Type R intake manifold will not work on the GSR head.

got my car back from the dyno...made 170whp and 135 ft-lbs... the tuner said that i need a different exhaust becuase mine is too restrictive (apexi ws2)...its a nice exhaust cuz its really quiet...i dont really care that much, i perfer being quiet over the power gain (even though he said that it would put me in the 180 range)

Bro with all these clear pictures your dyno is the one that is all blurry? 165whp is what the sheet says correct? and 135lb/ft? I know this is knit picking but I'm a perfectionist bro. Also a tip for the track. If you want a better 1/4 et lower your tire pressure. Be sure to keep both front tires the same pressure. The raise the back tire pressure. Do this at the track though. They should have an air pump. Don't drive around on low tire pressure though because the tire can blow out due to the extra heat from flexing more. Also preload the clutch and don't slam gears. Shift quickly but softly. Slamming gears will cause quicker synchro breakdown, broken forks, and more friction. Along with that powershifting will take time off and add trap.

Also Your tuner is right. You could take that cat out and put a nice straight through glass-pack(resonator) and run a burns collector and that would retain the nice quiet tone while putting you up there in the 180whp-190whp mark. Especially since you've got the 68mm TB. One more piece of advice is to do away with the cold air intake. You're better off running a vary basic intake to just behind the passenger headlight. Then utilize a seperate pipe to route air from the front of the car. Having the cold air intake on your car is ineffecient because of the routing path of the pipe and the pipes diameter. It will slightly choke the motor at higher rpms.

These are all just recommendations. The important part is it's your vehicle and if your happy then that is what's important. Anyways your car is clean. Keep up the good work!

UPDATE!!!!!!

Ok so i kno that i havent been on here for a while, but i was crazy busy with my job over the summer.... a few things have happened.

1) got my car back from the body shop and the rear looks really good.
2) when to king again with a different header and made 200whp and 146tq...ran it at the track and did consistent 13.9's @ 103, so i know its good for a better time with better tires. Also put in skunk2 pro series valvetrain in it.
3) I went road racing at blackhawk farms through NASA and that was a blast
4) I have also been autox several times this summer and that has been a lot of fun.
5) My Omni LCA's in the rear are shot so ill be buying some function7 LCA's for the rear soon.

Here are some pics of when i went to Blackhawk Farms...

I have been mostly working on my CRX si that i swapped a b16a into with a b16 trans, type r cams, valvetrain, TB and some other shit. It is also going to be on hondata with a 55 shot of nitrous. Also put F&R LCA's on it with skunk2 sport shocks and lowering springs
