welp. i got it. either you used a....99-00 b20b or a b20z block =) i guess that is what im shooting for... 8.8:1cr < 9.6:1cr. First though ima build the head and run it on a stock ls block...until i find a b20 with 9.6cr.

Nice build. With a build like that you cant say you are a broke student lol. Yeah your B20vtec hp numbers are low. With the setup you have you should be hitting 200 at the wheels all day long. I suggest a Hytech B20 large tube 4-1 header and 2.5 inch or 3 inch exhaust and a retune. Where did you have your car tuned at? Even with a small exhaust it should be putting done a bit more than 170whp. Might want to look for a new tuner, how much your tuner knows makes a big diff in the end reasults. I live in Arizona and had my b18b1 tuned here by Superior Racing Development. They are all Honda, even help out Honda Tuning mag with stuff all the time (they are local to). They did the K24 DC2 swap in this months issue of Honda Tuning. With all the mods done to your car NASA will put you in a higher modded class. Thats not a problem if you car well expereinced at autoX. So make sure you are very familiar with the rules and classes. Again very nice build clean and mean. Weird how your brakes went that fast at the track. I run Baer slotted droll front rotors with a street track ceramic pad and stock rear drums. They work great for me.

^ haha well i was a broke ass student but i graduated now and i have a real job, plus some of it was on credit...my b20 vtec did hit 200whp and 147 tq tuned by kingmotorsports...the 170whp was on stock cams and a basemap..

as for NASA, right now i am just in the HPDE program, so really anything goes...once i can afford to run in the honda challenge...i might throw in a stock LS to run H4, or a K series if i can afford H1 (prolly not lol)

I also heard that i must of been really hard on my brakes that day b/c ppl run that same setup and dont have problems...but now for road racing i have hawk HT-10's

thanks for the reply...prolly the first reply from my build in a while

Yeah you must have been really hard on those brakes. You had just put them out the car shortly before going to the track right? If you did not brake them in correctly they can over heat and then they just burn up and wear out. I put around 500-800 miles on a new set of brakes before tracking them. I have been using the same brakes now for over a year with daily driving and seeing some heavy track use about 3 times a months.
