I'm about to install my ls engine w/ pr3 pistons being the only mod.

Just wondering if getting a basemap was necessary, because i was just going to start it up on the stock ecu.

if it has stock cams then it shouldnt be a big deal. the main thing you have to worry about would be timing. obviously make sure you put in the highest octane you can.

i would still recommend getting it tuned though.

you can start it up on the stock ecu and run it for a bit. but it would really benefit to get the ecu chipped and tuned. if your timing is on then it will run but not as well as it could

Bumping compression helps alot! I had a B20 with 12.5:1 JE in it and it would pull for days. If you don't get the ECU chipped at least get an SAFC to control your fuel a little bit.
