Well another track night in the quarter mile. I have a stock 99 b20b with a lightened flywheel and 98 itr tranny. I went to the track last saturday and ran a 15.3 with the rt time .167 and my speed was 88.79 that was my best time and tonight my best time was a 15.4 with a rt time .030 with speed 88.00 and just cant understand why my time wasnt better. maybe someone can tell me why lol. Another question is i have adjustable cam gears and i have them at tdc do you think it would help if i advanced them by 1 to 2 degree? I have full power all the way through the gears. What upgrades do you guys think that would help the most. thanks

you could advance timing alil but without doing it while tuning, you dont know if ur really makin power or not. For mods, the itr tranny is def. a good start. Now start letting the motor breathe with intake, throttle body, intake manifold, a nice header and exhaust, and maybe port and polish the head if you can.

Thanks for the reply i was starting to think i wasnt going to get one lol. How can I advance timing without adjusting the dizzy or the cam gears( just trying to learn) also i have 2.5 inch stainless steel piping with a resanator from the header back. I have a air intake tube with a filter on it do you think thats good enough for now? I am in the process in getting a header what would you get. Im not filimar with ebay headers but they have a nice looking one for 70.00 shipped it is 1.75 at the exhaust port and 2.5 coming out. here is the item number in case you want to look 200614055620. Thanks

i dont think there are any other ways besides on the dizzy and with the cam gears but i could be wrong. As for your bolt ons, you wanna get good name brand parts. Reason being that these companies actually do the Research and Design and actually make these parts add HP. So buying cheap shit on ebay really isnt the best way to go in my opinion. You get what u pay for basically. More expensive parts will give you a better result.

For a header, I'd get a Tri-Y replica, Type R replica, or an RMF header if your on more of a budget. You could always go Toda etc.... if your a baller haha

Sounds good, just make sure ure ground clearance is good with the tri y. Couple of my buddys had to make minor adjustments but other than that they are awesome
