i would say a 3" CAI vs. a K&N filter and stock piping...there is def. a difference

Putting in just a k&n air filter still has the stock piping and box which is limiting. If all you have is an air intake the difference is very minimal. Just putting a 3" CAI on a stock setup is very minimal. But, if you put it with any kind of build it makes a difference.

To me a K&N "filtercharger" drop-in unit, is only doing half the job. Stock piping is small in diameter, and designed in cheif, to keep sound down (stock resonator.) Is also has the PCV line routed back into it, wich can sprew some rather nasty stuff back into the intake(I recommend a breahter filter, you should see the stuff spewing out when I hit VTEC on the dyno.).

On that note:: An aftermarket SRI (short ram intake) or CAI (cold air intake) is fundamental starting point for bolt-on mods, and possible an all motor build later down the road.

I don't recommend K&N brand air filters though...at all.

I would go with a 3 inch intake with velocity stack and 6 in. diamter filter... huge difference over just droping in a k&n ..Blox ones are around 75 bucks
