so finally got the fully built head on my car and went to the dyno and i found out some interesting things...the guy that sold me the pistons that are in my car are less compression than he told me...the je pistons that i got in my car are around 9.5 instead of the 10.5 that he told me...with that being said i had it tuned at speedquest and only gained about 3hp from when i had the stock head on...there is a huge dip in my dyno as well (the guy does not know how to tune)...the only thing that came good out of the dyno was that i make power till about 7400 rpm's. i will be going to extreme parts in wisconsin soon and getting a full street/full throttle tune all motor along with a 75 shot with my hondata...thats all for now...

finally got it over to the tune shop...made 147 whp and 120 ft-lb of torque all motor. on nitrous is where i made the huge power gains...on a 75 shot i went to 200 whp and 180 ft-lb of torque...seems really nice and i can rev to almost 8k with those stage 1 cams..thats all for now i will be posting the dyno chart soon...also, with this tune i am getting around 300 miles to the tank as appose to the previous 200 to the tank so it was defiantly worth it

nice gains for fairly small cams considering you have bascially stock compression (not on purpose i know).

what a difference a good tune can make huh, more power, better MGP..

gl with the build

hey so i think im done with the nitrous for the season...took the kit off and im off for new prospects.

I think im going to go turbo next year just wondering if you guys that have done turbo builds any good combinations that you have had sucess yet...i would like to hit 250whp and have a turbo that spools to 7500rpm...that is really my only requirement for the build...

I would like to do it cheap like not spend no more than 2K on the kit but lemme know if that is attainable.

Any input is appreciated...

thanks

kyle!!!!

there is a huge dip in my dyno as well (the guy does not know how to tune)...

hahaha this part made me laugh but its true!!!!! shhh!!!!

lol but yea... Go turbo!!!! easy 250WHP!!! look at my single cam! 237WHP STOCK!!!! so i dont see why 250 should be a problem for you! you should do a nice little GT30 setup!

well it seems that me wanting to go turbo happened faster than what i thought...i was driving down the highway goin about 80 with cruse control on, when all of a sudden my car just completely looses and power to the motor...i'm at school right now so i had to tow it to honda...they find out that the motor somehow shredded 6 inches of timing belt teeth off of the timing belt...they put a new timing belt on but for some reason the timing belt would vibrate a lot and i also lost 50psi of compression in each cyclinder...took the motor apart, all the valves look fine, but i could move the pistons in the block around a fair amount, plus i saw a lot of un-even wear marks on the cyclinder walls...which makes me believe that the block is shot and came unbalanced or i spun the rod bearings or somethin...anyway, prolly gonna be gettin a winter beater for now and then in the spring/summer gonna go with a stock LS with a mild turbo setup on it...thats it for now if anyone has any idea what might of went wrong with me car give me a shout!!! L8ter
