Hey guys,

Thought I'd throw together a thread to show what I've got.

Its a 96 EK1 sedan. Just swapped in a JDM B20B with an EG6 b16a gearbox. Running with OBD1 LS ECU, Avid Mounts, Stock DC2 box and intake, Skunk 2 Intake Manifold, Edelbrock Exhaust Manifold, Megan Racing Test pipe, Buddyclub Spec 3 Pro Exhaust, ACT lightened flywheel, Exedy Sports Organic Clutch, Buddyclub short shifter and just put on a new PWR radiator and slimline fan yesterday. Also during the swap, got rid of powersteering pump system, A/C and did a wire tuck.

Handling wise I have stripped interior, front and rear Whiteline strut braces, front Whiteline camber and castor kit, rear Whiteline camber kit, front and rear upgraded Whiteline swap bars (F=27mm R=22mm), D2 Track Coilovers and Megan racing Rear LCA's.

Nothing fancy interior and exterior wise. Have some Volk CV pros here that I've taken apart and cleaning up. Plan on respraying car same colour and have a new bumper here for when I do.

I used to do a bit of circuit racing when I had the D16 in it. Hopefully will be back out there soon with the new motor!

Some pics:

Future plans- 404's with upgraded valvetrain, headwork and tuning. Still deciding to bother touching the bottom end.

Cheers!

The headlight loom was the easiest. Just a matter of taking your fenders off, unplugging the harness and running it along under the fender. Everything like vaccum lines and throttle cable are just trial and error. I found it so much fun because you could be as creative as you want. Most of it was just running hoses and things a different way so they are hidden.

But yes, for a simple start probably do the headlight harness, vaccum lines and just remove the many... MANY little brackets and bolts Honda had put in the bay.

I still have to do the fuel filter and lines. Getting an inline filter and stainless braided lines.

Hey Bro, your steering wheel is on the wrong side of the car!
I'm partial to Fat Five wheels too...(Got 2 sets of them ftw...)
Is that a Holden Kingswood in the background in the first shot?
I drove the Ute version in Kiwi-Land many moons ago.....

They do just bolt back on... but theres only a little bit of aligning required.

I think thats a Gemini. Both made by Holden around the same time though. That was taken out at a sprint meet. They're pretty common for racing here. Used to be a rally car.

Thanks for the replys!

The Gemini's were also sold as Opel Kadett C's ...

What part of Queensland are you in? I got around there quite a bit some years back, myself. Guess that Brisbane and the Gold Coast have grown completely together by now.....

Is there a big Honda tuner community in your area?
Nice work, keep the photos coming...

There you go. They're usually crap boxes falling apart these days. Only a few cool ones left that run either Isuzu motors, SR20's or rotarys.

Brisbane area. And yes, Bris and GC are slowly getting there. So many housing estates being built in between now.

There is a bit of a Honda scene here. We're only just coming out of the Drift fad, so theres plenty of Silvias, Skylines and AE86's around. NSW and VIC have bigger Honda scenes than here. QLD is still known for having rice bodykits and chrome wheels! But the few of us who race and wrench our own cars like to meet of occasionally!

Big thanks to Trav (guy with singlet if photo). He's the one who showed me most of the tricks to tucking (His ride). Plus a big thanks to Chris who took all of the photos. http://chrisfatseas.carbonmade.com/

If you want to do a hardcore wire tuck... then you would have to take your motor out. But for just a simple one to clean up the bay, you shouldn't have to take it out. That red EG in that link I put up, we did his with the motor in.

You can leave the engine in to a full tuck... I did.

Hey guys!

It's been a while since I'd put anything up! Progress on car has been slow. Have now installed a Sparco Pro2000 seat with Sparco low rails and a Sparco steering wheel. Got new wheels. Set of Buddyclub SF challenge in black with red rim. Still haven't done fuel lines in bay. Got the stuff for it, just haven't had time because I've been back out on the track!! The motor is unreal on the track. The gearbox is a big factor aswell being so short. Time has been a little faster. Cars weight distribution has changed with the new motor being a bit heavier than the old motor. Running new upgraded swaybars, brakes are getting owned alot more, still running street tyres... Plus just a little rusty!! :-D

Been having issues with the oil pan gasket. Leaked like hell after first track session back. Only to find none of the studs were torqued down or were missing!! So have replaced that and hoping all is good.

Still can't idle properly! But I'm over it... lol. Its mainly a weekend and track warrior now!

Just some happy snaps:

Cheers guys!! I'll hopefully get off my ass and do the fuel system. Plus I've got some brake stuff on the way. New rotors and SS lines!
