will the p8r cams boost my power on 93 head. or what oem cams can i use for a lil more horse. i heard the r1 cams were the most aggressive. if so why does the ls get more power each generation of motor. for example 90-91 have near 130(obd-0). 92-93 near 140 (obd-1). but are both r1 cams. then the 96 up bumps up to 145(obd-2). just curious.

They may well be the same. (The stock B20 cams are the same as the stock LS ones...)

The difference in power numbers is mianly in electronics, intake/exhaust manifolds...

I wish someone would measure all the cams and find out which ones are different and shit.

That would take a lot of work though.

well i do know that there is a lil difference in the cams from motor to motor of the ls's. just wanting to make sure iwas going to gain a bit and not loose. my cousin put 90 ls cam's in his b20 ran better. and the ls with his b20 cams ran better. so its kinda hard to just say i want b20 cams and for sure will gain. cause the differences in power could have came from timing issues. adjustments of cam gears. just asking to see if anybody knew for sure..........

so it would be pointless to try and switch to a newer model set of cams. i was just wanting to do it for fun anyhow not nothing serious and think i be king of the street or nothing like that. just tryin to help my motor a little bit.

An absolute waste of time for the power gain.

their is not much of a difference but i did a cam swap on my ls for the oem upgrade. 96 and up automatic cams have a higher lift and where made to red line around 7400. I put this in a 94 b18b motor and it felt like it shifted the power band from 5800 peak to around 6500. Crower sells these cams for the 5 speed non vtec guys. i got mine from a junk yard. check the specs for your self http://www.crower.com/cat/import/honda/cams/b18ab.shtml click it

mostly stock motor it only dropped about .2 to .3 off my e.t. in the 1/4 mile and gain around 2mph (mods where intake, header, cat-back, and clutch and flywheel, and ctr pulley)
