see I'm in the process of painting my valve cover, i sanded it, with 600 grit before painting, the used some 500 dregree aluminum color paint but is sticking but not all that well, Should I have used primer if so which one? ill show pics later

You need to use aircraft stripper. Can be found in any auto parts store. Then you need to actually bake the valve cover in the oven. Trust me it works, just be careful with protecting your oven and not putting the valve cover too close to the heating element.

They call it "Aircraft Remover"...careful with it, it eats paint in a second... :shock:

here are some pics Im not done yet I sanded the valve cover b/c after painting it some dust dried with it, and also i sprayed some bronze on the valvecover by accident. By the way this my first time paintng a valvecover.

The lines don't look as bad in person. And it's all hazy becuase i just took it inside from sitting out in the -20 C garage.

I didn't even strip the old crappy ass blue paint off of it, just sanded smooth and primed with high heat stuffz.

Aircraft remover, air sander, high heat paint (1500 degree) and some time and it you can see the difference!

a few sec. with a drimal
and some ford red dupli-color engine enamel

Its called wrinkle and is hard to find in red. Wrinkle black can be found almost at any parts store the just paint over with red.
