ok so here we go. i had a fuel injector code 16. so i ran some sea foam and it cleared it. so i thought it was the problem why i couldnt rev but then i took it out and it wont rev pass 5000rpm. i already mess with my main relay also. i re-soldier it but sometimes my car wont start and i have to hit it. could it be that? also i check the timing and dizzy on it and its fine. didint check the fuel filter yet but dont think thats the problem. could be fuel pump? or could it be a bent valve?

when you turn the key to acc. 2 can you hear the fuel pump running? If not thats your problem. You'd know if it was a bent valve it would run like shit and you'd be able to hear it.

it idles fine. the fuel pump comes on. it drives fine but when try to rev it, it cant pass. anymore ideas? fuel cut?

Its possible. Do you have access to another Ecu? If so try the other one. Someone before you might have fucked with it.

does it die at 5k or does it bounce like a rev limiter? prolly in the post already but im lazy.

my guess is an ecu problem. if it just died or cut off then it would be a fuel issue. is the ecu chipped or is it just a stock ecu? try resetting the ecu, which is done by disconnecting the negative battery terminal for a couple minutes.

If qcktegls idea doesn't work, then u should check your clips on the injectors to see if there loose or check the resistor box if u have one. I had a similar problem when I swapped my engine one of the clips was loose and it wouldn't rev past 3500 on my car.

it could also be a bad tps sensor

i am having the same problem with my 94 ls teg , sometimes it revs out to 7000 and some times it stops at 5000, but if i shift to a higher gear(lower rpm) it runs fine , also if it is acting up and i mechanically rev it past 5000 (shift it to 2nd at like 50 mph) it just feels like its not running till it gets down to 5000 then it just feels like a rev limiter and starts bucking again ,sometimes it runs fine all the way through the rpm range

Check timing too, I had a problem with my Civic and it turned out that I skipped two teeth on the crank.

no its definately not the timing it is dead on the marks where its supposed to be , this feels like an ecu or distributor problem ,anyone ever heard of this before, i am about to start swapping parts off of my wifes car ,i was just trying to avoid that

Do you know anyone that would let you use there ecu to see if it's that?

i am going to swap out the ecu with the one in my wifes car (95 ls) to see if that is the problem if that is not it i will try the distributor next , i was just hoping that someone would have encountered this problem before and would know right off , i will post when i figure it out and let everyone know , thanks everybody for there help
