hey guys, I'll make this my formal intro onto this site. I signed up a long time ago but I belive they reset all the accounts so I lost my posts and everything.

I'm on h-t with the same name a bunch of other honda forums.

This past year, I put in a fresh rebuilt 95 b18b into my civic coupe mated to a 2000 b16a2 tranny, Jun 10lb flywheel and CTR N1 crank pulley.
The rest of the mods were:
*Pro-1 ITR 4-1 exhaust manifold
*Carsound/magnaflow 2.5" high-flow cat
*2.5" custom exhaust pipe back to vibrant oval muffler(no resonator)
*J's intake
*Exedy Stg.1 Clutch/PP

The car ran a 15.0 in the 1320 and performed great.

Had some problems with the engine mount itself so the engine will be sold to my friend which will repair it and I'm starting on another b18b.

Plans so far for this new 96' b18b I just picked up a week ago:

*New hastings piston rings
*PR3 Nippon Racing pistons(raises CR to 11.37:1)
*New timing belt/water pump
*Iceman intake with headlight scoop
*JD Engine Dynamics Cam gears
*ITR/GSR Oil Pump
*Hondata Intake Manifold gasket
*ACL Rod/Main/Thrust bearing's
*Crower cams...still debating and trying to figure out what one's I want to go with.
*Upgraded valvesprings with retainers.
*will be chipped most likely on Crome

Basically a simple setup, but I'd like to pull some good power out of it with a good reliable tuner.

I'll post up the most pics/updates I can in time. I have a bunch of parts at home but now waiting to free up some money to get the valvetrain then it's time to start building it.

Just want to post this up and start my own thread here on non-vtec!

thanks
bart

Minty fresh engine bay! (wish mine looked like that...)
Consider NepTune, it has some advantages.. The Crower 403's are good for all around use. (Street/Strip) 404's are good for track, maybe a bit too much for daily driver..402t's for turbo applications...Lovin' the color! Nice work! 8)

Welcome bart ! Loving the car...its funny I was thinking to say "get rid of that damn intake" then I read later but I'm glad to see you are! You should add an oil catch tank...I been doing a ton of research on them lately...ahah its my new "kick"

go with the 404's not alot of people use them.

and with the 11.3:1 cr the 404s are going to love it.

what kinda of retainers are you going to use ? ive heard and read lately alot about t.i retainers crapping out and stop doing there job after 10 to 20 thousand miles.. i want some of the crower chromoly retainers ive heard about. you have to call crower to order them as they are not listed on there site..

edit: here is the link lol turns out i found this info from that link. on this site...

yea thats the same link I was reading.
I might just get titanium retainers but from the company JG engine dynamics as they uphold a strong reputation for engines and parts.

I'll see how much crower chromoly retainers run for and decide then.

still need to pickup some 404's for a good price

dc4kid - I'll pass on the gude as it's the 'middle' cam between the 403 and 404 and i'm looking for something that competes with the 404 completely

i dont know man honestly the crower chromoly ones sound like there going to be your best bet. every one says spend the extra money for quality while that is true. id like to add spend the extra bucks for peace of mind. every one that builds motors or is in this hobby knows that sooner or later something is going to go wrong... id rather it be the way way later when it happens to me.

Werd...I've got the JG PR4 head with 403's,

TEXREX88 - JG Engine dynamics head?
I'd be more intersted in the head + valvespring/retainers and not the 403's

i'm set on 404's :P
