Hi All.

Just bought a D15B JDM engine to swap into my daughter's 1993 Honda Civic LX: D15B7, 1.5L, 16V SOHC, not-VTEC.

She blew head the gasked and then some. So I bought one of those JDM engines to replace it.

Trying to get my list of parts together, but have already run into the first wrinkle, where I've found out that the water pump on the JDM D15B is different from the water pump on the D15B7.

So, I'm looking for help on what other gotcha's lurk on the JDM engine before I do the swap.

Bob

hi,
what year was the d15b motor?
i hav a 96-00 jdm d15b motor. i used the y8 timing belt. alot of the 96-00 civic hx/vx parts should work with that motor also. is your motor non-vtec, vtec-E, or vtec (like mine)?
if your your motor is a obd1 d15b use the z6 parts(including water pump). and some from the vx.

My new db15 should be a 92-95, to match my 93 Civic LX.

It's a 1.5L 16V SOHC non-vtec engine.

How do you tell if it's odb1?

It sounds like the z6 parts are the way to go. What about the PS pump?

Thanks,
Bob

ur power steering pump should work but either get a longer belt or shorter belt, can't remember. if not try using the bracket from your old ps pump. also look at the crankpulley from ur old motor and compare it to the d15b see if the groove for the ps belt look the same.

Aside from the engine what auto parts do you need in replacing your engine? Coz I have a honda civic and I want to part ways with it. If you need some parts let me know okay?
