well first your going to wanna get all the basic things out of the way, intake headers cat back exhaust then u might wanna get a few bolt on's like light weight fly wheel and crank pulley.i have a b18b1 in a EG hatchback and beside that one ive had a couple other hatch's with ls swaps id recommend taking the power steering off its makes a noticeable difference in the power.once u've done all that u'll prolly add between 15-25 horse power.if u really want to start getting aggressive with it id look into doing the cams like a stage 1 crower cam's good luck with the build

Well it sounds like you are ready to drop about some serious cash into this build. If you want a good amount of hp and torque stoking it would be a good option on the torque end. As far as good ideas for an all motor LS, I would say some very aggressive cams(i.e. Crower 404), new upgraded valve train(Crower), port and polished head, high compression CP pistons(circa 12.5), bigger fuel injectors, better fuel pump(walrbo 255), nice rods(Crower), ITBs(if you feel like paying as much for the tuning effort as you did for the ITBs themselves), High end headers(RMF, Hytech), custom 2.5" full exhaust, cat delete, Hondata s200, Exedy lightweight flywheel, Exedy Stage 2 clutch.

There are a lot of other things you could do in addition to, or instead of this. This is just a simple starter guide.

Now if you aren't wanting to spend 5-10 grand on this engine:
1. Let it breathe better.
Short Ram 3" intake
BPI velocity stack
Full exhaust(header back)
Decent header(RMF replica)
68mm TB
S2 pro series IM
2. Do a LITTLE internal work.
Crower valve train
Crower 403s
Adj. cam gears
JDM P30 pistons
Eagle rods

It really all depends on what your realistic goals are considering your budget and whether you will be driving this car as a DD.

You're in for a rude awakening if you're wanting to build an all motor LS. The head is the limiting factor. LS heads are shit, plain and simple. I dont are how much its ported, I doubt it will out flow a stock/mildly ported vtec head.

Just throwing that out there.

This is one of the few instances I will suggest going boost. You will spend less and make more power boosting an LS versus an All Motor build.

With that said...

I would...

Crower 402-T's/Springs/Retainers
Skunk2/Blox/AEBS IM
DSM 450's
Walbro 255 fuel pump
81mm CP pistons 9:1 cr
Eagle Rods (LS)
Balanced rotating assembly
ACL bearings
Fresh hone/bore

then piece together your kit and you'll be more happy with the outcome than if you went All Motor.

If Im stroking my motor, do I need to resleeve the block? Or could the sleeves be bored over to a bigger bore? I'm new to this kind of build. And if I were to go with a Vtec head, what all will be needed done?

Well if you take their advice then stroking the motor wouldn't be a wise investment. If you boost it then just do what 4sd4dr suggested.

If you still want to do an all motor LS, which I say go for, then I would probably say sleeve it. I wouldn't bore the stock sleeves and run a higher compression. Plus, if you ever get the urge to run a little laughing gas then you can have more confidence in your sleeves at least.

As far as going with a Vtec head with an LS block, you will need the conversion kit from golden eagle, and I'm not really sure about anything else. I'm more of an LS guy. If you do want Vtec, well first off, this isn't the site for you(lol), but seriously. I wsould suggest just getting a GS-R or a B16 instead of an LS-Vtec.

Why? Because you've heard horror stories of improperly built LSV/CRVtec engines? At any rate, this site is not geared for LSV or B20V discussion.

I say dont waste your money building an all motor LS, cuz its just that. A waste. Boost the LS, be happy!!!

The reason I was suggesting an all motor LS is because it is what the op stated that he wanted. Another reason is that is what I am trying to do right now. An all motor LS might not be able to put down amazing numbers, but it is a preference. I myself would rather have an all motor LS for the simple reason that no one would expect anything out of it. If I popped my hood and someone just looked at it they would think "This n00b has I/H/E. I'll smoke him." I know I wouldn't be able to run with 400 whp Evos, but that is not why I would want it. I want an all motor LS so that when that one kid shows up to the car meets with his "Gee ess are that will walk all over your LS man. You gotta get Vtak yo!" or the one that just slapped a Vtec head on his LS and thinks he is God himself.

As far as the Ls-V i have just never liked them. No particular reason, except the millions of horror stories. I do know that they can be made properly, put down good numbers, and last, but honestly the number of those is far fewer than the numbers of the ones where they "just slapped a Vtec head on his LS and thinks he is God himself."

As far as him boosting the LS, if that is what he wants, go for it. I was just giving him options. I would like to have a boosted LS as well. I just want the all motor LS to shock the hell out of people.

A local STOCK (stock engine, stock intake manifold, throttlebody, etc) made 350/300 on 22 psi (110 race gas)

The setup is as simple as you can get. stock ls motor no add on's at all. inline pro t3 p/s compatible, t3/t4 57 trim .5x a/r, ebay intercooler and piping 2" hot side 2.5"cold side, 38mm tial wastegate, hks blow off valve, 3" down pipe open, hondata s300. Boost spiking up to 21psi. 110 octane gas.

This used to be the shops 800hp 9 sec LSV... but was tore down, parted out and now the new owner has a stock LS on 22 psi

ls/vtec can be made if you know how to build them right done a few myself but back to topic in my opinion the reason to build a all motor non vtec is for the simply fact of the torq u can build a 175/180 hp all motor with a grs/b16 trans and u will pull on the famouse vtec engines like grs/itr and have the pleasure saying yah non-vtec as far as parts the guys above gave u a good blue print
