i can buy a b16 head with skunk2 high compression valves, skunk2 dual valve springs, ferrea bronze valve guides, brian crower retainers the oil lines, dowel pins, hondata intake gasket, new valve seal for 475. already put together. I have a b20z with around 42,000 miles and wanted to know how reliable and long it would last. I thought about changing the pistons can some one just give me there advice. Sorry for the vtec question but needed some help thanks

well i mean honda motors last forever so 42k on one is definitely super low. boost it :-) as for the VTEC head, yeah i'd give the guy like 450 for it. Its hard to find a quality assembled stock one for that much let alone one with all aftermarket parts in it so i'd jump all over that!! b20/vtec is always a solid choice :super

$450 is a good price for built head. You should see a 40-50whp gain with that head and the right cams. LS and B20 Vtecs are just as reliable as a stock motor when do correctly.
GSR water pump
GSR timing belt
GSR oil pump
ARP rod bolts
LS Vtec kit
GSR head bolts
Tuning
My B18B1 block as over 80k probably closer to 90k now and it is running strong with no issues, rebuilt B16 head.

yeah what neal says. reliability if done right. my LS block has 140k on it and still perfect compression so as long as ur rings arent warped or anything, u should be safe to go whichever route u want.

LS/VTEC is just as realialbe as a stock motor if built right one of the most important things to do is to get ARP rod bolts the LS/B20 connecting rod bolts are a weak point in the block and since you are planing on getting a high reving b16 head you would want that extra insurance and i would also invest in a type -r or a GSR oil pump to get the most needed oil to the head but that is just my 2 cents good luck with the build
